When a Man-in-the-Middle tries crashing the live streaming party, the C2PA bouncer steps in

February 2026
At Mile-High Video 2026, Unified Streaming R&D Engineer Roberto Ramos-Chávez presented a proof of concept (PoC) demonstrating the C2PA standardization activity for carrying C2PA information in live segmented media. The implementation reduces bandwidth overhead to 0.56% using C2PA Session Keys, compared with approximately 5% overhead reported for per-segment manifest approaches in prior work for representations below 1.5Mbps. The presentation also featured a Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) framework to evaluate use cases where content has been leaked and retransmitted into different live streams.
